What is Ranch Water?
I heard about this drink called “ranch water” from a friend a few weeks ago. She mentioned it was tequila-based so I initially was skeptical and wouldn’t like it since I don’t do tequila drinks, shots, etc. The taste reminds me of a skinny margarita and ended up really liking it.
I wanted to recreate this drink at home, but change it up to add a little kick of spice with jalapeños and chili salt. I’ll show you guys which ingredients I used below. Here is the jigger and shaker I used to make the drink as well. I hope you guys like it!
NOTE: For a spicier kick: shake the jalapenos with the tequila, pour into your glass, then top with the Topo Chico and stir.
The Rimming Salt and Tequila I Used:
Ranchwater
Ingredients
- Lime wedges
- Flaky sea salt such as Maldon
- chili lime rimming salt I used Twang-a-Rita
- 1 bottle silver tequila chilled, 750 ml
- 48 ounces sparkling water preferably Topo Chico, chilled, 6 cups
Instructions
- Run a lime wedge around rim of each serving glass; dip in salt and pepper flakes.
- Fill glasses with ice.
- Pour 1 1/2 to 2 ounces tequila and 2 slices of jalapeno into shaker and mix well.
- Top with sparkling water and serve each with a lime wedge.
Let me know if you guys like this drink and if you’d like to see me add more drinks under my recipes tab! Have a great day 🙂
