WHERE TO STAY
Since getting established in Park City over the last few years, we have started a rental company with 7 different rental properties. You can find our rentals over at staypcu.com. You can also find us on Airbnb but it is easy and cheaper to book directly with us! We love having guests stay with us and try really hard to make it the best experience possible with amenities, attractive properties, good locations, and by providing a wealth of things to do.
If you do prefer to stay in a hotel, here are my recommendations.
WHERE TO EAT
Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch
five5eeds – Wow things have changed! We are now part owners! Never thought I would be typing that when I first made this post so many years ago. I will obviously say this is my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurant lol. But seriously all of our friends/locals agree. It truly is the best.
Harvest – Still a great option for breakfast/lunch. Just SO tiny! Best to sit outside.
Vessel Kitchen – Good fast food and pretty healthy.
Deer Valley Cafe – This is a great brunch place and is very scenic 🙂 You can sit outside on a pond and they have paddle boarding for the kids (or adults). They also have grab and go options!

Dinner
Blind Dog (dinner only) – A summer only spot for sure. Amazing food (despite the odd name lol) and the patio is amazing! There is lots of sand out there for the kids to play. Now, after living here for a few years, this is our MOST visited dinner spot in the summer. Live music every night (opens at 5). Happy hour bits menu is the best from 5:00-6:00pm.
Shabu & Handle are the best dinner spots on Main.
Hearth & Hill – An option in Kimball Juction. Service can be meh. Good drinks though and a nice patio.
Bartolo’s – Another option in Kimball. I would choose this over Hearth & Hill. Also a great brunch. The pastas here are much better than its neighbor Maxwells.
Maxwell’s – We still go here ALL the time though because they have TVs everywhere… great for watching sports and they are open late. Super casual but so easy. We go a lot after the kids games and they are great at accommodating large groups. Ask for Ian and tell him I said hi! Best bet here are the pizzas.
Grub Steak – A hidden gem in Park City, it’s been here forever. It’s off the beaten path, so unless you’re local, you might not know to go here! They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays and is a local favorite.
Silver Star (lunch or dinner) They have live music during dinner hours on the weekend. Great view of the Park City Golf Course. During winter, this place is a ski in.
We are opening 2 new restaurants in the fall!! I cannot wait to share with you soon!!
WHERE TO GET DRINKS
Hotels are the only place in Park City that you can order a drink without ordering food. You don’t have to be 21 either to sit at a hotel bar. More details below on some of the laws in Utah regarding alcohol.
Hotels
- Pendry
- St. Regis – Ride the funicular up (it is such a neat experience) and have a cocktail with a gorgeous view.
- Stein Lodge
Bars (must be 21+)
THINGS TO DO
- Drive Guardsman’s Pass to Midway, then eat at the Filler-Up while you are there.
- Park City Library – The library is one of our favorite places to go for some down time. Besides having a 3D printer, virtual reality video games, and an amazing children’s book section, they have a café attached and right outside is a huge field and dog park.
- Ride the coaster and alpine slide at the base of Park City Mountain.
- Watch the Olympians practice their jumps at Olympic Park – they have weekly shows.
- Ride the bobsled (at Olympic Park) but prepare for a headache. I won’t do it again but glad I did it at least once for sure! The boys LOVE the ropes courses and they have a huge tube they can ride down the mountain!
- Kids have so much fun at the Deer Creek Inflatables. You can also eat at the Lakehouse at Deer Creek while you are out there (make sure to have a reservation).
- Make the 25 minute drive to the Sundance Resort (the view pictured above). It is truly beautiful, and you have to hike Stewart Falls (pictured below) so you can see the gorgeous waterfall! Bring a change of clothes so you can eat at the Foundry Grill afterwards.
- Rent an electric bike and cruise around for the day. Because lord knows it would take lots of training and killer shape to do it on a real one!
- Rent a pontoon or ski boat at the Jordanelle Reservoir.
- Check out the cave at Timpanogos.
Kids Summer Camps in Park City
- Basin Rec – They do the summer blast day camp and one called H20 where they get to go to all the fun waterparks.
- Deer Valley Summer Camp – Great for younger kids. Zander will be going into 5th grade in the fall, and I think this will be his last summer at Deer Valley Camp (after all these years I definitely teared up). They go on amazing field trips, hiking, and beginner mountain biking.
- Woodward – There are so many options including: mountain biking, BMX, scooter, skateboard and more.
- Rancho luna Lobas / Dog Sledding – The kids get to learn how to train and take care of sled dogs. If you sign up for the week, each kid is assigned a sled dog.
- Utah Olympic Park Camps – As the boys have gotten older, this is one they still love to do. They do the water ramp one. Note – you do need to somewhat know how to ski.
Our Favorite Hikes
We have found some pretty amazing hikes over the years. This is probably on of our main activities when the weather is warm. The boys love hiking. Feel free to refer to my Summer Hiking Checklist ( I will send you links to update this and make a new collage) to make sure you have everything you need before you set out on any of these hikes.
- PC Mountain – An easy hike, but you get to go to the top.
- Stewart Falls – Mentioned under ‘Things to Do,” this trail might be my favorite.
- Donut Falls – Great for younger kids
- Silver Lake & Ontario – These are two popular trails and we do them every year. These are at Deer Valley. If you are a mountain biker, this is Ely’s favorite place to bike. You can eat lunch at Royal Street (mid mountain).
- Bells Canyon – This is a long hike, but it takes you to a massive waterfall.
- Robs Trail – A locals’ favorite.
- Blood Lake – Absolutely stunning! (pictured below)
HELPFUL TIPS FOR YOUR TRIP
Drink lots of water when you arrive. The altitude can have its way with you and your digestive system doesn’t always work as well. Water helps! Magnesium sulfate pills help too.
Utah has different alcohol laws. You cannot buy wine at grocery stores, Costco, etc. You will want to find a state liquor store to buy all of this when you arrive. Also, most restaurants will not let you order a drink without ordering food… even if it’s just an appetizer and they have a strict measure policy. PRO TIP: ALL restaurants are BYOB with a $25 corkage fee so if we are wanting to drink at dinner we bring a bottle of wine with us. If you don’t BYOB, because of the strict measure policy, beer is the way to go.
EVENTS
Deer Valley summer concert series
If y’all haven’t already noticed, Park City has a ton of live music during the summer. During summer there are concerts at Deer Valley base where you sit on the mountain and eat dinner a la a picnic. Unfortunately things have changed and you are not allowed to bring alcohol in anymore, and there are no more free concerts 🙁 But it is still lovely and definitely a must!
Every Wednesday there is a Farmers’ Market! This year it is back at the base of Park City Mountain do to construction at the Canyons. It is right in front of the First Time chair lift.
Thursdays & Saturdays – Free concert at the base of the Canyons. If you are here for the 4th of July they put on an amazing fireworks show!
Sunday – Park Silly. Every Sunday Main Street is closed for Park Silly which is an open market where you can buy fresh produce (the BEST peaches and cherries we have ever had), homemade ice cream, roasted corn, the ever popular bloody mary bar, and the list goes on. There is a different band playing every week and they have rock climbing, bounce houses, and face painting set up for the kids.
Hope y’all found this helpful if you are planning on traveling to PC!
