It’s been a while since I’ve shared a breakfast recipe. I thought with the kids out of school over winter break for a couple weeks, this would be easy and quick to make while home! This oatmeal recipe needs only a couple ingredients that you probably already have sitting in your kitchen. You can also top with other ingredients to your liking like brown sugar, blackberries and cinnamon.Ā I hope you like it! Also be sure to try out this breakfast casserole recipe. It’s one of the boys’ favorite meals!

Stovetop Old Fashioned Oats
An easy, healthy breakfast recipe that needs only a couple ingredients that are probably sitting in your kitchen. Optional: add cinnamon, blackberries and brown sugar.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup milk plus 2-3 tablespoons as needed

Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring the milk to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the oats. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining milk as needed, remove from heat, cover and let stand for 2-3 minutes.
