Good Morning!  Velvet is a top trend this season, so today I am going to show you how to wear velvet for fall without looking like you stepped right out of the 90’s!  I personally would like to tackle the velvet trend in a minimal way by limiting it to shoes, handbags, or maybe a cute night out top like this one.

While shopping for velvet pieces, I am coming across lots of velvet tops, jackets, and dresses.  Unless I decide I love velvet so much I need to wear more of it, in my opinion these pieces seem a bit “much” and very circa 1994.  This also might be because I am old enough to remember this trend and don’t want to relive it completely – hahaha.  I distinctly remember wearing a velvet dress to some sort of dance in the dead of winter, when I was gawky and awkward.  This was also before spray tans were invented.  YUCK. Ha!  So when I look at these velvet dresses I can’t help but cringe a little.

I have however found the most adorable velvet shoes and handbags that I can’t wait to wear!  I just ordered these mules, and ran across these booties yesterday.  Below you can shop more of my favorite velvet handbags and shoes.

Have a great one!
