The coatigan – the perfect transitional outerwear piece from winter to spring. Sometimes referred to as the coat cardigan, cardigan jacket or sweater coat. It has the casual look of a cardigan, but the polish and structure of a nice coat. I love that this coatigan comes belted. You can wear it open as I did or tied in the front. When it comes to shopping for affordable trends at Walmart, Time and Tru never disappoints. Although if something catches your eye, I would recommend not holding off too long because my favorites always sells out pretty quickly. My coatigan in the brown colorway is already sold out in the small, but in stock in all other sizes. It also comes in two other neutrals – a black and an ivory. I chose the brown since I knew I’d get more wear out of this particular color. You really can’t go wrong with the others though – they will go with everything! Also available is the shorter version of the long coatigan. It has the front pockets and under $25! I can’t speak to the quality of the short coatigan, but the quality of the longer version is great. Not to mention for the price, it’s hard to beat.

For reference I’m wearing a small and it was still roomy enough for me to wear a sweater underneath. I added some texture to my outfit with this white sweater. You can wear the coatigan open as I did, or belted.
