Maintaining a daily skincare routine can be tricky. A lot of it will be trial and error and finding those beauty products that work best for you. I know it can also be overwhelming with so many different products that have different benefits. Plus, how much product do you need and how should you even apply it? I’ve added a few video tutorials to give you visuals!

The last time I shared my skincare routine, I included a step by step on my nighttime routine. Since then, I’ve started using a few new products so I thought I would share my updated routine and a step by step of my morning skincare routine as well.

My Easy 4-Step Morning Skincare Routine

Fun fact? I am not a morning person. I’m really bad about maintaining a skincare routine in the mornings, but I’ll share the few things I do consistently and it’s so easy – even for a non-morning person like myself.

Products I Use in the Morning by Order: Tula Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm // Tula Dew Your Thing Gel Cream // Tula Face Filter Moisturizing Primer // TAN-LUXE THE FACE Illuminating Self-Tan Drops // Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Cream SPF 30

Simple and easy 5 step morning skin care routine - how to clean face in the morning with Tula products

Step 1: Tula Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm

The first thing I do when I get out of bed is use the Tula Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm. It’s nice and cold feeling on the eyes. I just dab some product underneath my eyes. It feels amazing and helps me wake me up!

Step 2: How I Get A “Glow” in the Mornings – Tula Dew Your Thing Gel Cream

I first started using this cream the last time I was in Park City. I was on on stories and I had some of you point out to me that my face was glowing and you guys had some questions about that. It was this Tula Gel Cream! I like it in the mornings because it feels really lightweight. It feels nice & cold and just refreshing.

Step 3: Mixing Primer With a Drop of My Self-Tanner

Before I put any make-up on, (I will post my updated makeup routine soon!) I apply this moisturizing primer. Every other day, I will add the self-tanner drops. I use the medium and add just one drop. Depending if I’m feeling pasty, I’ll add two drops, but one is usually the perfect amount. It’s great for adding a little bit of color to your skin. When applying, I always start with my cheeks first and move outwards. You’ll notice that it’ll show up in a few hours. I added a video clip below on how much product I use and how to mix & apply if you’re more of a visual person 🙂

Step 4: Protect Your Skin With a Tinted Moisturizer That Has SPF

I know the moisturizing primer from step 3 doesn’t have SPF in it, so in the summer I will use the Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Cream SPF 30.

8-Step Nighttime Skincare Routine

Products I Use in Order: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // Tula Cleansing Oil // Tula Exfoliating Sugar Scrub // Tula Face Cleanser // SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum // MDRejuvena Rejuvaphyl Rejuvenating Complex Serum // La Mer Moisturizing Cream // La Mer The Eye Concentrate // Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Step 1: Remove Eye Makeup with Micellar Cleansing Water

Depending on if you wear eye makeup everyday, this step may not apply to you. Ever since I got lash extensions, I hardly wear eyeshadow anymore. But for the days that I do, I use the micellar cleansing water to remove eyeshadow. It’s oil-free so it’s safe to use with eyelash extensions. I just put some on a cotton pad and my eye makeup comes right off.

Step 2: Tula #nomakeup Replenishing Cleansing Oil

For this step, make sure your face is dry and with dry hands, apply this cleansing oil to remove your makeup and any dirt from the day. It hydrates your skin and doesn’t clog pores. Then wash off and proceed to the next step 🙂

Step 3 (optional): Tula So Polished Exfoliating Sugar Scrub

This is an added step, but I absolutely love it. It helps your skin feeling soft. Plus, it feels so good on your face and smells amazing.

Step 4: Tula Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser

I don’t use this in the morning as I mentioned earlier I’m so bad about using a face cleanser in the AM even though I probably should. It definitely can be used morning and night though. Even Mark fell in love with this face wash! I love the smell and the consistency. It suds up quite a bit which I like. I’ll then dry my face and apply my night serum in the next step.

Step 5: 2 Serums Worth the Investment

For the third step, I alternate every night between two different products: the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum and the MDRejuvena Rejuvaphyl Rejuvenating Complex Serum. A good friend of mine recommended the product to me and she’s been working as an RN at a spa for many, many years. I trust her opinion so basically anything she tells me to use, I’ll use it. The serum is by no means cheap, but it works and it’s AMAZING. I remind myself that a good skincare routine is an investment. You don’t need to use much of the product either. I’ve found that a pea-sized amount is enough and I only use it on my face. If I scoop a little bit extra, I’ll go ahead and use it on my neck as well. I show how much I use/apply below!

Step 6: Getting a Glow Using La Mer Moisturizing Cream

If there is just one product you have to try, this is 100% the one. It is game-changing. Just scoop some product with your pointer finger (to about where the first line indent on your finger is), rub it together with your fingers to kinda warm it up and activate it. Then rub it allover your face and neck. I get a little happy every time I put this on because it feels so good and my face gets this instant glow. This is also on the pricier side, but it lasts a long time. To put it in perspective, I only buy this cream maybe twice a year.

Step 7: La Mer The Eye Concentrate

Similar to the moisturizing cream, I use just a small amount of the eye cream each night as well. All you need is a small swipe into the cream with your pointer finger into the cream. I gently tap in the direction from the outer corner of the eye towards the bridge of my nose to go against the wrinkles.

Step 8: How to Wake Up With Soft Lips Using Aquapher

Last but not least is this great versatile moisturizer. You can use it on any dry areas on your face or body. Think of it as a spot treatment! I like to apply this to my lips at night because my lips are so soft when I wake up in the mornings.

And that’s it! Quick reminder if you want to try any of the Tula products I mentioned above, you can use my code: JAMIES20 to get 20% off your order.
